We are only a few spaces away from being full! If you know of anyone that is thinking about using BOSC in the fall, please let them know they should apply as soon as possible.
Mark your calendars! Monday, May 14, 2012 is BOSC's AGM. In your registration package, you submitted a cheque for $100.00 to ensure your attendance at this meeting. This is a mandatory meeting for all families that have registered for 2012-2013.
This meeting will be where families are assigned their volunteer duty for the upcoming school term.
Please take a moment to think about volunteering on our BOSC Committee!
Our Teacher's Convention and Spring Break were very successful this year. The field trips went well and all of the kids that registered, expressed their enjoyment at each event.
We went bowling, to the University, to WEM for mini golfing and to the Terwilliger Rec Center for a swim - it was a lot of fun!
Thank you to all the staff that put in extra hours during this busy time for BOSC. Exam time is coming for most of our part time staff and they still managed to give us a few more hours of their precious time! We could not have done it without you and BOSC expresses their appreciation!
The kinders had a great month in March - they had hours of fun inside and out. The theme was 'In like a lion and out like a lamb'.
Now that the weather is getting warmer - we will be spending as much time as possible outside. We will be taking mini walking field trips around Belgravia and McKernan exploring the outdoors. We will continue with the weather theme - April showers bring May flowers.
The time has finally come and BOSC will be having their 2 day site visit for accreditation! The visit will take place in June.
A permission form will be handed out in May to all families that attend BOSC. We will require this form to be completed and given back to us for participation in the site visit.
We are preparing our annual survey that is completed by both the parent and children that attend BOSC. We ask that you take the time to complete the online survey so we may better our services and programming. We need to hear from you!
Belgravia Out of School Care (BOSC) is an organization program that provides safe and reliable childcare in the Belgravia Community League's hall located next to Belgravia Elementary School. The program offers before school care, Kindergarten care, and after school care. Children are safely monitored during transitions from the school to the hall. The program is led by our Administrative Director, Program Supervisor and Kindercare Coordinator. We also have a several part time team members certified in childcare by the Government of Alberta. Due to our close proximity to the University of Alberta, our part time staff are generally students from the Education Faculty who are enthusiastic and energetic! All staff have Child Care First Aid, Standard First Aid, Police Security checks, Child Welfare checks, and Food-safe certification. Out of school care is throughout the school year including Professional Development (PD) days.
